AlphAI software problems
- If the launch of the software is very slow or seems to hang without any error message appearing, the problem is probably linked to a lack of available RAM on your computer. Try closing some of your running applications to free up memory, and AlphAI should launch normally.
- Software versions 1.7.3 to 1.7.22 contain a bug which may cause the program to close when the update to a more recent version is refused. If you notice this problem, we recommend that you accept the update. If you can't or don't want to perform this update, you can solve the problem by downloading the following file: Start_Alphai.pyc. Place it in your AlphAI folder, replacing the file of the same name already there. If you don't know where your AlphAI folder is, you can right-click on the AlphAI icon and select Open file location.
Problems with AlphAI software on macOS
- Bluetooth connection does not work with macOS for AlphAI versions lower than 1.8.0.
- When launching AlphAI from a terminal with the command
alphai
you can get the error message: PermissionError: [Errno 2] Operation not permitted
. In this case, close the terminal, go to System settings > Privacy and security > Privacy - Full disk accessand authorize access to the disk for the Terminal. Then restart a terminal and run the command alphai
. - My Thymio robot is detected in Thymio Suite, but no button appears in AlphAI. -> You need to update the library tdmclient. To do this, open a terminal and run the following command :
~/Documents/AlphAI/alphaienv/bin/python3 -m pip install --upgrade tdmclient
(this requires an Internet connection). Then relaunch the AlphAI software.
Problems with AlphaBots robots
- My robot flashes white and appears with a 0 number. -> The robot needs to be reconfigured. Follow the instructions on the SD card configuration page.
- My robot still does not flash 30 seconds after start-up. -> Please follow the steps below:
- Remove the robot shell and check that the red PWR LED next to the batteries is lit. If not, recharge the batteries.
- From the AlphAI login screen, click on the Troubleshooting button and follow the instructions.
